** Job Summary
** The Research and Project Coordinator leads the day to day coordination and assigned research activities of the Slocan research development project. The project brings together BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute (BCCHR) investigators, the Slocan Site Redevelopment team, and patient and family partners to establish a program of research alongside clinical care at the new Slocan Site Centre for Children with Health Complexity.
The position leads evidence reviews, facilitates research and community engagement, conducts qualitative data gathering and analysis, and translates findings into research plans, consent process documentation and knowledge mobilization outputs. Working with Dr. Stephanie Glegg and Dr. Matt Carwana, the Co Principal Investigators (Co PIs), the coordinator contributes to identifying research priorities, developing initial project concepts and planning how research can be embedded within the Centre.
The position exercises judgment and initiative in organizing and delivering this work, with scientific direction and approval of research approaches provided by the Co PIs.
** Organizational Status
** The coordinator reports to the Co PIs and works closely with the Project Advisory Circle (PAC), Slocan Research Committee, clinical planning team, researchers, clinicians, patient and family partners, trainees and students. The coordinator also liaises with Research Ethics Board (REB) representatives and external research organizations and experts to gather information, coordinate consultation and advance project deliverables.
** Work Performed*
* * Develops and maintains project work plans, timelines and deliverable trackers. Coordinates day to day priorities and contributions from the research team, clinical partners, families and collaborators; identifies delivery issues and recommends adjustments, referring changes in scope, methodology or resources to the Co PIs.
* Coordinates project and PAC meetings, records decisions and follows up on actions. Maintains project records, monitors delivery against internal BCCHR grant requirements and applicable institutional policies and agreements, and prepares mid term and final funder reports.
* Leads a rapid review of published and grey literature on embedding research consent in clinical care. Extracts and synthesizes evidence within the methodology established by the Co PIs and identifies findings and gaps for discussion.
