About the Role

The IT Stores Lead is responsible for supporting, enhancing, and governing all technology systems used within retail store operations. This role leads Point of Sale (POS) initiatives, store technology deployments, system integrations, incident management, and continuous improvement efforts to ensure seamless store operations and an excellent customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Point of Sale (POS) Management
  • Lead the implementation, enhancement, and support of Cloud based POS systems across retail locations.
  • Gather business requirements and translate them into functional and technical specifications.
  • Coordinate POS software releases, upgrades, testing, and production deployments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve POS-related issues, ensuring minimal impact on store operations.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to optimize checkout processes and customer experience.
  • Store Systems Management
  • Manage and support store applications including:
  • Inventory Management Systems
  • Order Management Systems (OMS)
  • Store Fulfillment and Buy Online Pickup In Store (BOPIS)
  • Loyalty and Customer Engagement Platforms
  • Payment Processing Systems
  • Price Management and Promotion Systems
  • Workforce Management Solutions
  • Store Reporting and Analytics Tools

  • Project & Change Management
  • Lead store technology projects from requirements gathering through deployment and stabilization.
  • Coordinate with vendors, development teams, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Ensure proper change management, testing, documentation, and user training.
  • Operational Support
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and incident trends.
  • Drive root cause analysis and implement preventive measures for recurring issues.
  • Establish and maintain SLAs for store technology support.
  • Support peak retail events and ensure technology readiness for seasonal business demands.
  • Vendor & Stakeholder Management
  • Act as the primary IT liaison for store operations leadership.
  • Manage relationships with POS vendors, payment providers, and third-party solution partners.
  • Conduct regular service reviews and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience with retail POS Cloud based platforms (Predict Spring preferable) and store technologies.
  • Experience supporting retail operations and omnichannel commerce environments.
  • Knowledge of payment processing, inventory management, and store fulfillment processes.
  • Experience with incident management, release management, and change control.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience working with vendors and cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and service management practices.
