Merchandise Planner

The Merchandise Planner is responsible for developing a bottom-up inventory demand plan before the launch of a season for Wholesale, Retail and Ecommerce channels. This role partners closely with Merchandising, Allocations, Supply Planning, and Retail Operations to create an inventory plan and forecast demand based on a top-down merchandising strategy and open-to-buy.

• Develop sales forecasts based on historical performance, trend analysis, and merchant strategy based on all channel needs
• Create a bottom-up inventory plan at a SKU, distribution centre location, and monthly-phased level to inform total company needs
• Own open-to-buy distribution based on store float, sales requirements, and promotional needs
• Lead post-season analysis work with Merchandising to help inform future line requirements and
• Monitor and provide feedback regarding return/exchange rates
• Drive Demand Review in Sales and Operations monthly cycles to identify trends or opportunities based on current information
• Review inventory based on future season opportunities and recommend an exit strategy for slow moving or obsolete product

• 3+ years of experience within planning, allocations or merchandising, forecasting, or financial modeling
• Experience in the apparel industry within a retail or omni-channel brand
• University degree, preferably in math, economics, statistics, business management, or equivalent
• Strong analytical skills and ability to think strategically
• Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely to a varied audience
