This is where you come in, as a Junior Category Manager - Outdoor & New Business, you'll drive the continuous in-season health, margin optimization, and cross-functional execution of our outdoor furniture category.
This is a 15 month fixed term covering a parental leave.

Why We Need You:
In Category Management, our Outdoor & New Business category needs a dedicated operational leader to maintain seamless line plan execution, protect gross margins, and navigate cross-functional supply trade-offs through January 2028. This fits into our larger need to ensure operational stability across seasonal product lines while delivering exceptional quality and value to our customers.
Within the first few months, you’d successfully ramp up on current outdoor line plans, establish strong collaborative rhythms with Sourcing, Design, and Planning, and lead weekly performance reporting. In a year, you’ll be proud to say you’ve managed a full seasonal outdoor cycle from peak sales through post-season analysis, protected product margins against supply chain shifts, and delivered actionable insights for future line expansion.
About the team:
You will work closely alongside our Category Manager and collaborate daily with cross-functional partners across Product Design, Sourcing, Supply Chain Planning, and Marketing. The team relies on data-driven reporting, inventory analysis tools, and active customer feedback channels to make grounded commercial decisions.
We are a hybrid team - you'll be in the office 3 days per week at our Vancouver HQ.
What You’ll DoYou’ll be part of a collaborative team of Category Managers and cross-functional partners working to solve complex seasonal retail, inventory, and merchandising trade-offs.
- Execute the outdoor category line plan to achieve key commercial priorities around product, price, and timing.
- Monitor weekly sales velocity, gross margin targets, and stock levels to ensure financial plans are achieved.
- Analyze customer return data and product feedback to identify quality risks early and implement solution strategies.
- Drive pricing architecture and tactical promotional plans to clear aging inventory and protect profitability.
- Lead end-to-end product lifecycle management, including phased exits and promotional transitions.
- Partner cross-functionally with Design, Sourcing, and Planning from analysis through recommendation and execution.
- Communicate clear seasonal strategy and product visions to Marketing and Campaign teams to drive successful sales execution.
- Conduct post-season market and competitive analysis to inform grounded expansion ideas for future outdoor lines.
- 2 years of related experience in Category Management, Merchandising, or E-Commerce (furniture/decor experience preferred).
- Analytical, highly organized, and detail-oriented with solid knowledge of category management, merchandising, marketing, and sales principles.
- Strong understanding of data analysis, pricing architecture, and forecasting methods.
- Proven ability to multitask, adapt to shifting priorities, and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines with little supervision.
- Strong collaborative mindset with a track record of establishing productive cross-functional partnerships on a global scale.
- Solid grasp of seasonal business cycles and the ability to adapt to category-specific priorities and timelines
- Legally able to work in Canada.
- Completion of criminal background check.
