Description
The security’s primary role is to secure the premises and personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, and access points. The security guard is responsible for ensuring only authorized persons access the premises and checking in guests. The security guard will coordinate with management and local law enforcement, when needed.
ScheduleSaturday and Sunday, 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM, with occasional weekday shifts as needed for peer coverage
EssentialJob Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide a visible presence that enforces safety and security, and ensure the security, safety, and well‑being of all personnel, visitors, and the premises.
- Monitor and control entrance and departure of employees and visitors according to prescribed protocol.
- Detect and confront unauthorized persons and violators of security procedures.
- Use radio or other communication devices in a clear and concise manner.
- Present losses and damage by reporting irregularities and inform violators of policy and procedures.
- Investigate security breaches, incidents, and other alarming behavior.
- Control traffic by directing drivers.
- Adhere to all company service and operating standards, inform violators of policy and procedures, and report violations to the Human Resources Office.
- Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities.
- Respond to emergency situations to provide necessary assistance to employees and authorized visitors.
- Report suspicious activity, criminal behavior, and security breaches.
- Follow procedures for various initiatives, including fire prevention, patrolling premises regularly, traffic control, and accident investigations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain reliable and regular transportation and attendance, with flexibility to work extended shifts as needed.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Knowledge of state laws and regulations
- Working knowledge of security operations and safety practices
- Working knowledge of enforcement policies and procedures
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee will be exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature.
