Job Description
Guardteck Security is seeking a dynamic Site Security Manager to oversee operations at a commercial retail mixed-use building in Vancouver, BC. The manager will lead a security team, respond to incidents, and ensure professional service and compliance with all policies.
Job Responsibilities
Lead daily security operations, mentor and develop team members.
Respond swiftly and strategically to incidents, making critical decisions to protect people, tenants, visitors, and property.
Drive performance, set the standard for professionalism, and create a culture of excellence.
Ensure staff follow Guardteck standards, policies, and site procedures.
Review Incident Reports and Daily Dispatch Log; ensure accurate capture and distribution according to SOP.
Maintain staff training compliance and coordinate outstanding training requirements.
Meet with the Guardteck Account Manager bi-weekly, record minutes, and share with management.
Prepare and submit monthly scorecards and KPI reports to Account Management.
Respond to after-hours emergencies and support site staff via appropriate communication channels.
Serve as a key operational leader during on-site incidents and emergencies.
Support investigations of major incidents, property concerns, and complaints involving the security team.
Utilize CCTV and integrated security systems for incident review and investigation.
Coach and develop the security leadership team and conduct performance reviews.
Coordinate tabletop exercises such as fire drills and threat scenarios.
Hold monthly meetings with Shift Supervisors and document minutes.
Support employee recognition initiatives and promote accountability and service excellence.
Conduct random site visits for performance checks.
Client Interaction
Conduct security threat assessments and liaise with Account Manager and Property Management to improve the program.
Maintain and update emergency response plans, ensuring client understanding of roles.
Meet with Property Management twice monthly, document minutes, and submit to operations.
Perform daily site walkthroughs with Property Management.
Respond to client requests promptly and professionally.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Security Site Supervisor, Site Manager, or Operations Manager.
Experience in commercial property, retail, or mixed-use building security is an asset.
Experience with integrated security systems including CCTV, access control, and intrusion systems.
Advanced computer skills:
Excel, Word, Outlook.
Strong problem solving, attention to detail, and awareness of business relationships.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
Certification:
Minimum OFA 2 or willingness to attain; AST certification or desire to attain.
