What you do- Support the planning and coordination of port operations activities in conformity with port practices and procedures, adopting a holistic approach which encompasses aspects of safety, security, and environmental protection.
- Assist with the development and implementation of safety, security operational policies and procedures.
- Assist in the coordination of TLS and road safety and emission audits in conjunction with local police traffic safety initiatives and Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement (CVSE) blitzes.
- Ensure integral support and maintenance of the TLS GPS program.
- Coordinate special events, provide expertise in developing temporary security and safety plans for special events and short-term leases.
- Support the implementation of safety and security site evaluations to determine gaps and mitigating measures.
- Participate in the development and implementation of training and awareness programs, analyze incidents, and organize and deliver briefings.
- Coordinate communication with internal and external customers in person, on the phone, and in writing in response to operational issues; process and prioritize calls depending on operational requirements; develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and customers.
- As required, coordinate and attend stakeholder working groups and committees.
- Produce reports, updates, and disseminate information as required.
- Gather and interpret operational intelligence, anticipating emerging issues and taking or recommending proactive action; perform other assigned duties as required.
- A certificate in operations, or another acceptable discipline, from a recognized educational institution, along with a minimum of three years’ experience in container/bulk/auto terminal and/or intermodal logistics coordination, and knowledge of security, safety and emergency issues, measures and requirements; must be able to perform analysis of operational data and have good problem-solv ing skills.
- Must be able to work under pressure and demonstrate the ability to use good judgment, make decisions, show initiative and take responsibility for situations when required.
- Exhibit the ability to work effectively in teams, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills with internal and external contacts.

Working environmentOccasional outdoor exposure to a terminal operations environment.
- This position is required to provide scheduled vacation and time-off coverage for both of the following positions:
- Logistics Coordinator, Land – Evenings (Monday to Friday, 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm)
- Land Logistics Traffic Coordinator (Tuesday to Saturday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm)
