Relational Security Team Officer Position

Join the Relational Security Team at Vancouver Coastal Health as a Security Officer. Provide essential support in maintaining safety and responding to potential aggression in healthcare settings.

Reporting under the Manager of Safety & Prevention, you will proactively address security concerns and uphold VCH’s commitments to diversity and cultural safety. This role emphasizes a trauma-informed approach, ensuring a secure space for patients, staff, and visitors while supporting the health organization’s safety and prevention strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain a visible security presence in healthcare environments

• Manage incidents of potential violence effectively

• Work collaboratively with the Relational Security Team

• Uphold safety procedures in accordance with policies

• Foster an inclusive and supportive healthcare atmosphere

Requirements:

• Current BC Security Guard License required

• OFA Level II Certification needed

• Certification in Advanced Security Training necessary

• One year of related experience preferred

• Completion of Provincial Violence Prevention Curriculum
