Coordinator, Protection Design & Technology

Salary The salary range for this position is CAD $38.88 - $55.89 / hour.

We are seeking to fill a Temporary Full‑Time opportunity for a Coordinator, Protection Design & Technology, ending June 2027. This role supports Integrated Protection Services by leading protection/security/parking technology input for redevelopment, construction, and renovation projects across the St. Paul’s Project and strengthening electronic security and parking systems.

The Coordinator leads in protection building design, administers electronic security and parking systems, evaluates and implements technologies, and manages system linkages with other Integrated Protection Service departments. The Coordinator supports the Manager in daily operations of the department.

• Lead building design and protection/security/parking technology input for redevelopment, major construction, and renovation projects across the organizations to meet Integrated Protection Service standards.
• Participate in the development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of integrated protection service standards for building design and security‑sensitive areas.
• Serve as the primary Integrated Protection Services contact for implementation of electronic access control, CCTV, duress/panic, intrusion, and related technologies.
• Conduct physical security risk assessments and security reviews for the organizations.
• Coordinate functional delivery of facility parking services.
• Maintain security system integrity and related administrative processes.
• Provide direction and recommendations to internal and external partners regarding security and parking systems implementation.
• Advisory role in investigations involving staff, particularly those involving security or parking IT, including sensitive investigations.
• Develop and administer training and education programs for the use of security and parking systems.
• Assist with operating and capital budgets related to security and parking equipment, conduct audits of system use, and develop installation standards.
• Interface between project security and parking technology functions, liaising with Photo  to ensure integrity of the access control program.
• Coordinate with external emergency and law enforcement services regarding incidents impacting staff, clients, or operations.
• Provide after‑hours on‑call support for Integrated Protection Services as assigned.

Education and Experience

Diploma in Facilities Planning, Project Management, Criminal Justice, or related field;
Trades Qualified alarm installer or related TW certification; five years’ recent experience administering, maintaining, or installing access control/photo identification, CCTV, duress/panic, intrusion systems in a large complex multi‑site institutional environment; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
