Position: Detention Guard at Commissionaires Island

As a Detention Guard, you will be crucial in maintaining the safety and well-being of detained individuals under RCMP supervision. Your responsibilities will include monitoring prisoners, ensuring cellblock security, and assisting with daily logs and meals. As part of this not-for-profit organization, you’ll help deliver vital security services while working with a diverse and inclusive team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor prisoners’ safety frequently and using CCTV

• Record activities and maintain a prisoner logbook

• Ensure cleanliness and tidiness of detention areas

• Secure personal effects and monitor fire safety

• Dispense approved medications under supervision

Requirements:

• Valid Occupational First Aid level 1 certification

• RCMP Reliability and Public Works Clearance ability

• Ability to communicate effectively in English

• Basic computer skills and physical mobility required

• Willingness to complete training for detention guard duties
