Position: Security Attendant at The Gathering Place
Embark on a career with the City of Vancouver as a Security Attendant I at The Gathering Place Community Centre. This auxiliary role emphasizes community engagement and ensures a safe environment for all visitors.

Join a dedicated team focused on public service and reconciliation. In this front-line position, you will facilitate access control, monitor safety, and respond to incidents with professionalism. Your skills in conflict resolution and emergency response will be vital in maintaining the Centre’s welcoming atmosphere for low-income community members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor entrances and maintain access control for the Centre

• Uphold the Centre’s Code of Conduct and standards of behaviour

• Conduct regular building patrols to ensure safety

• Respond effectively to incidents, applying de-escalation techniques

• Assist patrons by providing information and making referrals

Requirements:

• Completion of Grade 10 (Grade 12 preferred)

• Knowledge of local community resources and services

• Experience in social service or healthcare settings

• Occupational First Aid Level I or ability to obtain

• Basic Security Training certification preferred
