OFA1 Full-time Security Guard

Job Description Primary Responsibilities

• Observe and report activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the security and safety of client property, its assets and personnel.
• Patrol assigned site on foot or in vehicle; checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons.
• Make periodic patrols to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment.
• Control access to client site or facility through the admittance process.
• Preserve order and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises.
• Apply de-escalation techniques to manage conflicts or tense situations effectively and safely, minimizing risk to the client's property and assets.
• Respond to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents.
• Use of communication systems to report and inform.
• Monitor intrusion detection systems using automated alarm and video monitoring software.
• Protects evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations.
• Prepare logs and reports as required.
• Satisfy client needs by providing excellent customer service while minimizing risk to the client's property and assets.
• Ability to use computer systems.

• Current and valid Security License
• A valid OFA 1/ Basic First Aid certificate
• Must have excellent technological skills.
• Excellent report writing skills
• Highly observant, attentive and vigilant.
• Working knowledge of security operations and procedures
• Knowledge of handling different alarm systems
• Must have excellent computer skills
• Must be able to patrol for long hours
• Must have excellent communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Strong customer service skills
• A professional and a team player
• Experience using de-escalation techniques and conflict resolution
• Ability to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports
