Position: VCH Relational Security Officer Role
Join Vancouver Coastal Health as a Relational Security Officer, enhancing safety at Vancouver General Hospital. Engage with patients and staff to promote a secure and supportive healthcare environment.

As part of the Protection Services team, your role involves actively managing potential violence and aggression issues while establishing a strong security presence. Your ability to organize work and communicate effectively will ensure a safe setting for everyone. You will engage in trauma-informed practices while contributing to VCH’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure security of persons and property at healthcare facilities

• Manage potential aggression with proactive intervention

• Maintain trauma-informed safety and prevention practices

• Operate security equipment and tools effectively

• Collaborate closely with the Relational Security Team

Requirements:

• BC Security Guard License and OFA Level II Certification

• Completion of Advanced Security Training

• One year relevant experience or equivalent

• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally

• Physical ability to perform job responsibilities
