Our machinery & equipment department is looking for a heavy equipment mechanic. The selected candidate will be assigned to the Stanley Park project and will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of above ground and underground heavy equipment.

ResponsibilitiesAs a Heavy Equipment Mechanic on site, you will:
- Verify the equipment in order to detect functioning problems;
- Repair and maintain the equipment through preventative and corrective mechanical works;
- Perform repairs, parts replacement, adjustments and settings;
- Verify hydraulic, pneumatic and electric systems;
- Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic tests;
- Clean the work area and store the tools;
- Disassemble and reassemble components such as engines, transmission, and pumps on certain units in order to inspect and diagnose equipment problems using computer systems, calibration and gauge devices;
- Repair and inspect mechanical, hydraulic and electronic systems and equipment;
- Repair major components such as final drive units, suspensions, springs, bushings and central pivots;
- Provide entries and data for the treatment of work sheets, registration and equipment repair and inspection reports;
- Follow and respect all health, safety, and environment procedures;
- Any other related task.
- Heavy equipment mechanic certification (red seal) or any related training;
- Mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electric knowledge;
- Minimum of five years’ experience in a similar position;
- Valid class 5 driver’s license (class 3 would be an asset);
- Must be conscious of health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Resourcefulness, ingenuity, good dexterity, and physical ability;
- Capable of working alone and in teams;
- Autonomy and thoroughness;
- Proven ability to diagnose heavy equipment.
