Fiber Optics Splicer

Join the Plan Group Inc. team as a Fiber Optics Splicer in Vancouver, BC.

In this role you will work on landmark projects, applying your skills in fiber optic splicing over a dynamic, hands‑on environment.

• Prep and fusion splice various types and sizes of fiber optic cables, including loose tube and ribbon cable.
• Prep and install both aerial and underground splice enclosures along with other closures common to the splicing and termination of fiber optic cables.
• Perform bi‑directional OTDR testing, along with power‑meter testing.
• Install and dress fiber optic cables.
• Read prints and comprehend splice instructions.
• Maintain high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Perform manual labor tasks, often in tight spaces.
• Climb and work at elevations (ladders, aerial lift trucks).
• Use hand and power tools.
• Lift objects weighing over 50 lbs.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Wear appropriate safety apparel and follow all safety procedures.
• Adapt to industrial work site settings for daily safety requirements.
• Work respectfully with others and independently.

• Must be able to travel for extended periods and work flexible hours, including excess of normal hours and weekends.
• Must pass fit‑for‑duty, drug and alcohol testing.
