Covenant Youth Worker Position

Position: Covenant House Youth Worker Position
Join Covenant House Vancouver as a Youth Worker for the Foundations Program. You will engage with vulnerable youth, offering crucial support through a person-centered, trauma-informed approach.

In this vital role, you'll assist youth aged 16-24 facing homelessness and mental health challenges. You will provide immediate resources, facilitate program entrance, and support ongoing personal development. Building relationships based on trust and respect is essential as you help young people navigate their paths to recovery and housing stability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and provide for youth's immediate needs

• Establish and maintain professional relationships

• Conduct program intake and welcome new youth

• Implement trauma-informed, harm reduction strategies

• Provide crisis intervention and detailed documentation

Requirements:

• Degree or diploma in social services, or relevant experience

• At least 3 years in a similar support role

• Experience with youth homelessness and substance issues

• First Aid and crisis intervention certifications preferred

• Effective communication and teamwork skills
