Step into a vital role as a Family Visitation Worker with Atira Women's Resource Society in Vancouver. You will be instrumental in reinforcing the ties between Indigenous mothers and their young children.
This casual position, located near Trout Lake, focuses on providing a nurturing environment for mothers and children affected by trauma. You'll work collaboratively within the Therapeutic Visitation Program, emphasizing strengths-based approaches to help families overcome their challenges. Your focus on equity and cultural competency will ensure the delivery of impactful services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create and execute family visitation plans that promote wellness
• Conduct visitation sessions providing safety and support
• Support women and children experiencing intergenerational trauma
• Participate actively in team-focused program improvements
• Foster an inclusive atmosphere that acknowledges cultural backgrounds
Requirements:
• Identification as a woman or non-binary individual required
• Credential in human/social services
• Three years of relevant experience in community-based support
• Certification in First Aid, Non-violent Crisis Intervention, and Food Safe essential
• Advocate for gender equity and support for marginalized groups
Support Indigenous communities through compassionate engagement as a Family Visitation Worker.
