Developer, Youth Development, Social Work

Temporary until March 31, 2028 - Full Time, 35 hours per week

The Job Developer will support participants in the Aspire, Believe, and Tech Connect programs, working primarily with women and LGBTQIA+ newcomers and refugees. The role focuses on building strong relationships with employers and community partners to create meaningful work experience placements and sector‑specific exposure. Working closely with Program Managers and Career Advisors, the Job Developer supports participants in accessing employment pathways aligned with their skills, goals, and lived experiences, while promoting inclusive, safe, and sustainable outcomes.

• Working with job seekers to determine their individual needs and skills to market to employers in the labour market
• Developing employment opportunities for candidates by implementing effective marketing strategies
• Coaching participants in job search strategies
• Keeping abreast of labour market trends and job opportunities
• Facilitating and monitoring Work Experience Placements
• Maintaining rapport with clients pre/post job placement to ensure candidates receive appropriate support to maintain employment
• Maintaining accurate and up to date notes in the Integrated Case Management system
• Liaising with employers to organize hiring events
• Acting as a champion of the program, promoting our services throughout community and networking events
• Other duties as assigned

• 2 years of job development, career coaching, or job placement experience in a related setting
• Related post‑secondary degree or diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Career Development Practitioner certification is an asset
• Demonstrated ability to build lasting professional relationships with job seekers and employers
• Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills
• Access to reliable transportation and the ability to travel throughout the city.
• Must be available Monday – Friday with the ability to work the occasional evenings and weekends
• Ability to speak a second language is an asset
• A valid clear criminal record check (including working with vulnerable populations) is required.
