Become a vital part of the community as a Homelessness Outreach Worker, assisting individuals in navigating housing resources and support systems. This position requires collaboration with shelters and agencies to address homelessness effectively.
In this role, you will report to the Coordinated Access and Assessment Manager and be instrumental in connecting with people experiencing homelessness or position is essential in the multidisciplinary regional response team (HEART), working to minimize encampments and provide immediate support for individuals sheltering outdoors.
Key Responsibilities:
• Connect individuals to housing and support resources
• Collaborate with community shelters and service agencies
• Participate in multidisciplinary response efforts
• Assist individuals facing homelessness in crisis situations
• Promote well-being and cultural connections for individuals
Requirements:
• High School diploma and relevant post-secondary courses
• Experience with homelessness and poverty issues
• Skills in crisis management and de-escalation
• Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license and reliable vehicle
• Completion of Tier 4 Criminal Record Check
