FIRST UNITED is hiring for evening and night shifts in our 51-bed emergency shelter. This role emphasizes relationship building and community engagement while addressing complex mental health and addiction issues. Join our dedicated team, supporting individuals in various capacities while learning valuable skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create a safe and calming environment for shelter residents
• Welcome individuals and complete intake processes for new arrivals
• Monitor shelter operations as a first point of contact
• Assist with meal schedules and sleeping area access
• Maintain documentation and share community information
Requirements:
• Minimum Grade 12 education
• Basic First Aid Certification required
• At least one year experience with at-risk populations
• Strong communication skills, especially in conflict resolution
• Non-violent crisis intervention training preferred
