Indigenous Support Specialist at UBC

The Indigenous Support Specialist plays a vital role in UBC's Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Office. This full-time position requires expertise in trauma-informed care and significant experience in supporting Indigenous communities. You will work collaboratively with campus and community stakeholders to foster relationships and implement effective support strategies for survivors of sexual violence.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide crisis intervention and safety planning for survivors
• Coordinate support and accommodations with campus resources
• Facilitate case management meetings and offer guidance to staff
• Develop referral protocols with key stakeholders
• Manage case records and prepare reports as needed
Requirements:
• Undergraduate degree in relevant discipline
• Five years related experience required
• Knowledge of Indigenous cultural practices
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion
Handle sensitive situations with care and build impactful support systems for survivors at UBC.
