Become a Housing Outreach Worker at the Downtown Eastside Women's Centre, helping vulnerable women find safe housing. Work within a supportive, feminist environment focused on anti-oppression practices.
In this full-time position, you will report directly to the Specialized Services Manager. Your outreach efforts will support women living in extreme poverty in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver, enabling them to access necessary housing resources. You will skillfully navigate multiple demands in a crisis-driven setting while promoting DEWC’s mission and values.
Key Responsibilities:
• Engage with women to assess their housing needs
• Help clients establish and maintain safe housing
• Promote DEWC’s philosophy and values in outreach
• Process documentation and record-keeping
• Collaborate with local agencies and services
Requirements:
• At least 2 years working with marginalized populations
• Understanding of trauma-informed care
• Strong organizational and scheduling abilities
• First Aid Certification and NVCI needed
• Ability to manage chaos in crisis situations
Utilize your skills in outreach and advocacy to support women in need at DEWC in Vancouver.
