JOB OPPORTUNITY: Senior Youth Worker
About Our Opportunity
This is a full‑time, 35‑hour per week position that serves homeless, at‑risk, street‑involved, and street‑entrenched youth, and takes a leadership role in internal case management and maintaining the safety of the resource. The role provides guidance, information, and referral to youth accessing the centre, promotes safety, and, where possible, assists in their transition from the street to healthier, alternative lifestyles. It also mentors Youth Support Workers, practicum students, and others in the Dawn to Dusk program and reports to the Supervisor of Dawn to Dusk.

Work Hours
35 hours per week, Sunday – Thursday, 3:30 pm – 11:30 pm (full‑time)

What do you need to succeed?
Education, Training, Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or other relevant education
One (1) year experience working with at‑risk and/or homeless youth in areas such as child protection, life skills development, community support, and/or community outreach
Role Qualifications and Skills
Intake and assessment of new clients, pre‑screening, and determining fit for the program, along with making referrals when required
Identify individual needs for youth accessing the centre and provide support, encouragement, collaboration, and education on crisis intervention, harm reduction, conflict resolution, community resources, alcohol and drug information, and advocacy to clients using youth social work best practice
Initiate MCFD involvement where appropriate to develop and support Integrated Case Management strategies
Maintain appropriate notes, statistics, logs, and critical incident reports in a professional and thorough manner in the online database when applicable
Ensure adherence to all program and agency policies, procedures, safety standards, and accreditation standards including the Centre’s Facility Management Plan
Additional Requirements
Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check
Current First Aid Certificate
Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention Training and Food Safe are an asset
