FIRST UNITED is seeking two dedicated candidates for afternoon/evening shifts in a safe, welcoming shelter environment. Key responsibilities include relationship building, crisis intervention, and facility management in our emergency shelter. You will assist vulnerable community members, ensuring their immediate needs are met while promoting a sense of belonging.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create a safe and calming shelter environment
• Conduct intakes and manage guest entry
• Perform regular counts and checks for safety
• Provide information on meal and sleeping area timings
• Maintain accurate documentation and incident reporting
Requirements:
• Grade 12 minimum education
• One year experience in community service roles
• First Aid Certification and crisis intervention training
• Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
• Ability to adapt in high-pressure environments
Help support vulnerable residents with empathy and professionalism in Vancouver.
