Engage with the community as a Full-Time Support Worker for Hogan’s Alley Society in Vancouver. Help Black and Indigenous individuals access resources and support at Nora Hendrix Place.
Reporting to the Building Manager, this role focuses on comprehensive resident support aimed at enhancing their social and emotional well-being. You will collaborate with staff and external partners to provide case management and life skills training. Your commitment to fostering community connections is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess and refer residents for various services
• Guide residents in their personal development
• Assist residents at medical and legal appointments
• Conduct safety checks around the property
• Document resident information for care continuity
Requirements:
• Two years of experience in a similar role
• Familiarity with mental health and substance use resources
• Understanding of community impacts from colonial history
• Relevant diploma or certification in social work
• Valid B.C. driver’s license and access to a vehicle
