Become a crucial part of Hogan's Alley Society as a Culturally Grounded Liaison, dedicated to enhancing the well-being of Indigenous residents at Nora Hendrix Place. This part-time role focuses on advocacy, cultural teachings, and community connections.
In this integral role, you will support residents by fostering a nurturing environment that respects and celebrates Indigenous cultural practices. Collaborate with the on-site team to deliver tailored support and resources, emphasizing both community cohesion and individual empowerment. Your engagement with residents will be crucial for promoting cultural resilience and understanding.
Key Responsibilities:
• Implement culturally specific programs and workshops
• Provide crisis intervention and emotional support
• Assist in crafting individualized care and support plans
• Facilitate community activities and outings
• Build connections with Indigenous service providers
Requirements:
• Strong understanding of contemporary Indigenous issues
• Experience with harm reduction practices in urban settings
• Proficiency in crisis management and intervention techniques
• Current CPR and first aid certifications
• Dedication to anti-oppressive practices and equity work
