Support Black and Indigenous community members as a Direct Support Worker at Hogan’s Alley Society in Vancouver. Focus on delivering holistic support at Nora Hendrix Place's welcoming environment.
As a full-time support worker under the Building Manager's direction, you will assist residents with emotional and social needs while promoting their independence. The role is centered around community-led solutions and requires collaboration with various stakeholders and service providers to enhance resident quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
• Evaluate residents' needs and connect them to services
• Facilitate residents' goal-setting and action plans
• Provide accompaniment to essential appointments
• Conduct property safety assessments regularly
• Keep accurate records to ensure seamless care
Requirements:
• Minimum two years in a similar role
• Knowledge of mental health and Indigenous resources
• Understanding the effects of colonialism on community
• A diploma or relevant qualification in social services
• Hold a valid B.C. driver’s license
