FIRST UNITED is seeking an Assistant Manager for its shelter program to ensure service excellence and operational efficiency. You will supervise multi-shift teams, manage performance, and coordinate with case planners and senior management. This position offers a unique blend of supervision, crisis intervention, and community engagement aimed at improving the lives of low-income individuals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise and manage shelter service staff daily
• Ensure compliance with policies aligning with FIRST UNITED values
• Oversee recruitment, training, and performance reviews
• Collaborate with case planners on resident management
• Maintain shelter safety and cleanliness standards
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education with 3 years in a nonprofit setting
• Experience in a unionized work environment
• Strong interpersonal skills with marginalized individuals
• NVCI and First Aid/CPR certification required
• Ability to develop and implement safety plans
