Social Work Assistant at VACFSS

Join VACFSS as a Social Work Assistant to support Indigenous children's safety and well-being in Vancouver, BC. Collaborate with social workers to assist youth in care and enhance community services.

In this full-time position, you'll work under the Team Leader, assisting directly with casework and providing vital support to social workers.

Your role involves interacting with children, youth, and foster parents, helping coordinate case management activities, and facilitating access visits. This position is integral in delivering culturally relevant services to strengthen Indigenous families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist social workers with daily casework activities

• Provide support to youth in care and foster families

• Coordinate administrative aspects of client management

• Facilitate transportation for clients and access visits

• Develop relationships with children and families in care

Requirements:

• BSW, BA in a related field, or equivalent experience

• 2 years of experience working with children and youth

• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and clean driver’s abstract

• Union membership is required

• Open to all genders
