This part-time role at Nora Hendrix Place involves connecting residents to their identities and fostering a supportive environment. By utilizing your deep knowledge of Indigenous culture, you'll facilitate workshops and offer crisis support while collaborating with various community stakeholders. This position is integral to promoting understanding and inclusion among residents.
Key Responsibilities:
• Utilize traditional practices to promote community engagement
• Support residents in connecting with their Indigenous identities
• Provide life skills training based on cultural teachings
• Develop support plans aligned with resident needs
• Facilitate access to Indigenous-led resources and community services
Requirements:
• Strong ties to local Indigenous communities
• In-depth understanding of health issues impacting Indigenous peoples
• Excellent communication and relational skills
• Commitment to anti-oppression and inclusive practices
• Flexibility to work various hours, including evenings
