On Call Residential Counsellor

Position: On Call Residential Support Counsellor
Provide essential support to women and gender-diverse individuals in the YMCA‑YWCA Young Moms Program. This on-call role focuses on creating a safe and dignified environment for participants.

As a Residential Support Counsellor with YMCA‑YWCA, you will engage with young mothers aged 16-29 and assist them through various challenges. This role demands crisis response, community resource access, and solution-focused counseling. You'll work as part of a dedicated team, ensuring wellness and safe living conditions for program participants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond promptly to after-hours calls from residents

• Support well-being and conduct wellness checks

• Assist residents in accessing local community resources

• Facilitate group programming and activities

• Maintain accurate records and communicate with staff

Requirements:

• Minimum 2-year diploma in Social Services preferred

• Experience with trauma-informed care for youth

• Clean Police/RCMP Criminal Record Check

• Current Standard First Aid and CPR C certification

• Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License and reliable vehicle
