Community Support Worker

Position: Full-Time Community Support Worker
Join PLEA Community Services as a Full-Time Community Support Worker focused on enhancing independence in individuals. This position in Vancouver requires BCGEU membership and emphasizes hands-on support for diverse participant needs.

As part of the Adult Services team, you will provide essential support through assessment, goal setting, and service planning for individuals. With a diploma in a related field and one year of experience, you will help participants develop life skills, manage daily activities, and navigate challenges in their lives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in assessment and program planning for clients

• Develop tailored short-term plans with client involvement

• Assist with daily living and social skills for independence

• Evaluate client progress and adjust programs as necessary

• Transport clients to appointments and community activities

Requirements:

• Diploma in human/social services field

• Minimum 1 year related experience

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Understanding of socio-cultural issues affecting participants

• Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s License required
