Shelter Resource Worker

Position: Full-Time Shelter Resource Worker
Join Lookout Housing and Health Society as a Shelter Resource Worker in Vancouver, BC. This full-time, temporary role focuses on providing essential support to adults facing homelessness and related challenges.

The Shelter Resource Worker reports to the Site Manager, working collaboratively within a 24/7 emergency shelter. You will provide intakes, orientations, and support for guests, connecting them with community services and addressing their immediate needs. This role demands effective communication, crisis intervention skills, and the ability to foster a safe environment for vulnerable individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and supervise homeless adults facing various barriers

• Accept referrals and share information with community resources

• Connect guests to necessary community services

• Interview clients and provide basic necessities

• Maintain accurate records and statistical data

Requirements:

• Relevant Certificate or Grade 12 with two years of related experience

• Current Occupational First Aid Level 1 Certification

• Familiarity with addiction and mental health resources

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Criminal Record Clearance for Vulnerable Sector
