Vancouver Outreach Worker in Opioid Services

Join Vancouver Coastal Health as an Outreach Worker in the Overdose Outreach Team. Help individuals access crucial opioid therapy and support resources in Vancouver, BC.

In this role, you’ll engage with clients suffering from substance use issues, working to provide access to opioid agonist therapy while promoting harm reduction principles. Collaborating with a dedicated team, you will assist clients through various services including appointment facilitation and benefits acquisition. Your expertise will contribute to developing strategies for overdose prevention and harm reduction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Observe and monitor clients’ health and environment

• Escort clients to necessary appointments and activities

• Facilitate access to opioid agonist therapy

• Develop connections with community services

• Attend meetings and support care planning

Requirements:

• Community Social Services diploma with 1 year relevant experience

• BC driver’s license and vehicle required

• Strong interpersonal skills in diverse settings

• Familiarity with health services in the Lower Mainland

• Crisis prevention and conflict resolution skills
