Position Summary

The Facility Operations Coordinator is a hands‑on position with responsibility for coordinating the administrative, maintenance, materials management, and housekeeping facets, in multiple units of housing for people who are residents of our programs. This position performs building maintenance functions and inventory control, rent collection, and tenant intake/exit. The Facility Operations Coordinator supervises janitorial staff and liaises with the Program manager and support staff.

The position may require some evening work. It requires understanding and supporting the mission and values of Rain City Housing and the models/methods of supporting the people who access our services, including models of Housing First and Harm Reduction.

Hours: 52.5 hours bi‑weekly

Hourly Range
: $34.46 - $36.27 (BCGEU, Grid 35)

Schedule:
Week 1:
Monday, Wednesday & Friday: 8:00AM – 4:00PM,
Week 2: Monday & Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: 8:00AM – 4:00PM. At present includes a 30‑minute unpaid meal break.

A clear British Columbia Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check for working with vulnerable adults and/or children is a condition of employment with Rain City Housing. Applicants must be willing and able to receive a clearance under the Criminal Record Review Act.

Program Summary

Princess Rooms was Rain City Housing’s first minimal barrier housing program in Vancouver for people facing systemic and individual barriers to adequate housing and health, personal and financial security. Princess Rooms came to life to address the unique safety and support needs of people who struggle with mental health in our community. The program offers a flexible, non‑judgemental environment and follows a harm‑reduction/health promotion philosophy.
