Part Time Shelter Resource Worker

Join Lookout Housing and Health Society as a part time Shelter Resource Worker in Vancouver, BC. Support vulnerable adults facing homelessness by providing assistance and connecting them to essential services.

The Shelter Resource Worker reports directly to the Site Manager, working within a 24/7 emergency shelter for adults. This role focuses on providing intakes, orientations, and support while addressing challenges like addiction and mental health. You’ll connect guests with public services and help maintain a safe environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist homeless adults facing multiple barriers daily

• Accept referrals and share critical information with resources

• Refer guests to various community support services

• Conduct interviews and provide essential needs to guests

• Maintain accurate records and statistical data for reporting

Requirements:

• Related Certificate or Grade 12 education and two years' experience

• Understand community resources such as addiction and mental health

• Current Occupational First Aid Level 1 Certificate required

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Criminal Record Clearance – Vulnerable Sector needed
