The OpportunityWe are currently expanding our network of vocational rehabilitation professionals in Vancouver and Victoria, British Columbia
, and invite qualified consultants to express their interest in partnering with our organization on a subcontract basis.
This opportunity is well suited to experienced rehabilitation professionals who are passionate about supporting individuals in overcoming employment barriers and achieving successful return-to-work and vocational outcomes.
As part of our consultant network, you may have opportunities to provide services to a variety of referral sources, including insurers, employers, government agencies, and other organizations.
The Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist (VRS) provides direct vocational rehabilitation services to adults facing employment barriers. Services include skills and interest assessments, identification of suitable employment options, individualized employment planning, active job search support, and follow-up to support successful employment outcomes.
The VRS works closely with clients to support their career goals and facilitate successful workforce integration, contributing to high-quality rehabilitation outcomes.
Responsibilities:- Accept referrals and review client documentation and rehabilitation plans as required.
- Provide vocational rehabilitation services to adults facing employment barriers.
- Support clients in identifying suitable employment options aligned with their skills, abilities, and vocational goals.
- Conduct vocational assessments and career exploration to inform individualized rehabilitation planning.
- Develop and implement individualized employment and return-to-work plans.
- Provide active job search support, including resume development, interview preparation, and employment strategy coaching.
- Conduct follow-up activities to support successful employment outcomes and workplace integration.
- Perform labour market research and transferable skills analyses to support vocational decision-making.
- Gather and communicate relevant information on labour market trends, occupational requirements, and access pathways.
- Engage with employers to identify and facilitate appropriate employment opportunities where required.
- Monitor service quality and ensure client-centered delivery aligned with professional standards and best practices.
Experience:
- Possess a post-secondary diploma or degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of two years of directly related experience in vocational rehabilitation, employment services, or related areas, including one or more of the following: CV/resume and cover letter development, job search support, job placement services, and/or individualized rehabilitation or employment planning.
- Hold, or work under the direct supervision of a professional who holds, one of the following designations:
- Registered Rehabilitation Professional (RRP), as granted by the Vocational Rehabilitation Association of Canada
- Certified Vocational Professional (CVP), Certified Vocational Professional – Fellow (CVRP-F), or Master’s Certificate in Vocational Professional (MCVP), as granted by the College of Vocational Rehabilitation Professionals
