Join Covenant House Vancouver as a Youth Worker committed to supporting youth facing homelessness. This role addresses both mental health and substance use problems in a safe environment.
At Covenant House Vancouver, you will play a vital role within the VCH Foundations Program, aimed at helping youth aged 16 to 24. Your primary focus will be to engage youth through a non-judgmental and trauma-informed approach, ensuring all interactions support their emotional, health, and spiritual well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
• Initiate and maintain respectful relationships with youth
• Conduct program intake and service orientation
• Document client services and reports accurately
• Facilitate youth meetings and recreational activities
• Provide crisis intervention and administer first aid
Requirements:
• Diploma or degree in social services
• At least one year in a harm reduction setting
• Familiarity with youth homelessness challenges
• Basic computer skills and trauma-informed practice knowledge
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and perform safety checks
