Pay range is shown as an hourly rate. PCRS operates on a fixed wage grid with a step increase typically granted after one year of employment.

About the Program
WorkBC Employment Service Centres provide access to employment services including job search resources, skills assessment, training, work experience placement and online services. The services are provided at no cost to the participant and provides supports for job seekers looking for employment. WorkBC also provides services to employers looking to hire. Each ESC also provides a staffed resource room for self-service access to workstations and information.

Position Summary

The Employment Case Manager works collaboratively with the entire WorkBC team within the strategic objectives of Pacific Community Resource (PCRS) to ensure the provision, coordination and exceptional delivery of the WorkBC program. The primary role is to assist eligible job seekers to achieve labour market attachment by assessing employment readiness and eligibility, developing a realistic and unique action plan, and utilizing applicable interventions.
The approach is participant-centred, non-judgmental, and strength based. This role is varied, allowing for creative solutions to helping participants overcome barriers to successfully transition to sustainable employment. It is imperative that the Employment Case Manager demonstrates the ability to support a diverse population and takes initiative to ensure a safe and inclusive environment for participants and staff.
Responsibilities
- Delivers all case management services utilizing all three service delivery methods (in person, outreach and virtual)
- Builds rapport, assesses needs and employment readiness, conducts intake services and collaboratively develops an action plan to assist participants towards labour market attachment
- Confirms eligibility and explores all service options available to participants
- Provides all case management services including but not limited to skills enhancement, work experience, job search and job development support
- Provides ongoing, in-depth employment coaching while monitoring participant progress, reassessing and finding creative solutions to barriers until participant is employed
- Responds to ministry service requests
- Performs administrative duties such as providing financial supports, writing service rationales and progress updates promptly using ICM or other data bases as required or requested by Leadership
- Ensures notes are accurate and follow policy and procedures
- Completes monthly reports as requested within the stated timeframe and guidelines
- Keeps up to date on Ministry policies, procedure changes and eligibility requirements utilizing the Ministry’s Extranet and the job aids provided by PCRS
