In this vital role, you will work under the Shelter Manager to manage shelter staff and ensure the safe operation of services. With a keen focus on compliance and day-to-day team management, you will assist with performance reviews, staff recruitment, and training. Collaboration is key, as you will partner closely with various teams to provide seamless service to our community members.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise multi-shift shelter services team daily
• Ensure compliance with policies and BC Housing contract
• Manage staff performance, including coaching and discipline
• Provide crisis intervention and community support
• Oversee shelter cleanliness and safety protocols
Requirements:
• Degree or diploma in relevant field plus 3 years' experience
• Experience in a unionized environment preferred
• Professional demeanor with vulnerable individuals
• NVCI and First Aid/CPR certification
• Strong organizational and communication skills
