Vocational Services Developer

Position: Vocational Services Job Developer Role
Transform lives as a Job Developer with Vancouver Coastal Health at Gastown Vocational Services in Vancouver, BC. This role is dedicated to providing employment support for youth and adults with mental health disabilities.

Working collaboratively within a diverse team, you will help clients prepare for the workforce by providing essential coaching and skills training. Responsibilities include interviewing clients to assess their skills and goals, organizing workshops, and connecting clients to employment opportunities in the community. Your expertise will help foster lasting relationships with employers searching for diverse talent.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess client skills and support employment readiness

• Conduct life skills and job training workshops

• Prepare clients for job interviews and application processes

• Build relationships with local hiring organizations

• Track and support client progress toward job placement

Requirements:

• Community social services diploma or related education

• At least two years of relevant job development experience

• Knowledge of employment strategies for mental health support

• Strong rapport-building skills with clients and employers

• Proficiency in modern software tools for job search

Contribute significantly to the community by guiding clients in their journey towards sustainable employment with Vancouver Coastal Health.
