Crisis Youth Worker

Position: Crisis Youth Worker Role
Help vulnerable youth find their path at Covenant House Vancouver as a Crisis Youth Worker. Provide essential support to those experiencing trauma and homelessness.  

This role is crucial for individuals aged 16 to 24 who need guidance and structured support. You will assess youth needs, offer resources, and assist them in goal-oriented planning. Collaboration with a diverse team will enable you to tackle immediate crises while promoting healing and independence. Self-awareness and proactive self-care are essential, as this work will confront challenging scenarios.

Key Responsibilities:

• Address immediate needs of youth seeking CHV services

• Initiate relationships and orient new program participants

• Assist with goal setting and action planning

• Provide crisis intervention and administer Naloxone as needed

• Ensure thorough documentation of youth interactions and progress

Requirements:

• Diploma or degree in social services preferred

• Experience in a similar role is an asset

• Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles

• Ability to engage with diverse youth backgrounds

• Physical fitness to meet job demands like lifting
