Become a vital part of Island Health by providing Addiction Medicine services across Vancouver Island. This role emphasizes comprehensive service delivery in withdrawal management and recovery support.
The selected Family Practitioner will work with the multidisciplinary Access Central Substance Use team. Recent experience in medical withdrawal management and OAT prescribing in BC is essential. Collaborate closely with leaders from various disciplines, including nursing and social work, while offering medical training to students.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide Addiction Medicine services to diverse client needs
• Conduct assessments, triage, and match services
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team on patient care
• Teach and train medical students and residents
• Support recovery and outpatient services for clients
Requirements:
• Experience in medical withdrawal management
• OAT prescribing capability in BC
• Willingness to provide training and teaching
• Collaboration skills with health professionals
• Commitment to effective patient-centered care
