Software Development Manager

Position: Software Development Manager at Clio
Lead the Engineering team at Clio as a Software Development Manager focusing on AI-driven solutions for legal drafting. This hybrid role is based in Burnaby and requires in-office attendance twice a week.

As a key part of Clio's engineering leadership, you will oversee the development of our Draft AI product. This position calls for a strong technical background and proven leadership skills, particularly in large scale SaaS environments. You will work closely with your team, contributing to code, fostering their professional growth, and ensuring they have the resources needed for successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with product, design, and development teams

• Provide technical direction and code reviews for projects

• Conduct 1:1s for team member support and development

• Participate actively in team hiring processes

• Adapt roadmaps based on evolving project needs

Requirements:

• Proven leadership in software development

• Hands-on experience with SaaS products

• Solid knowledge of complex technical problem-solving

• Familiarity with Ruby on Rails or Python is a plus

• Growth mindset towards new technologies, especially AI
