Department Overview  Motorola Solutions’ Video Division is defining the future of the security industry through innovative end‑to‑end solutions. We’re changing the surveillance landscape with award‑winning AI‑based systems such as Appearance Search, Unusual Motion Detection and the Avigilon Cloud Service platform.

Job Description  Lead a high‑performing team of 8‑10 engineers focused on cutting‑edge research and large‑scale software engineering to protect people and assets worldwide.
What You’ll Do   Guide a dynamic team of software engineers, providing career coaching, performance management and technical mentorship.
Partner with architects to oversee system design and code quality for complex C++ and C# applications.
Modernize development systems and tool chains, identifying opportunities to refine workflows and reduce technical debt.
Translate business requirements into actionable technical roadmaps and clear execution sprints.
Act as an Agile champion, removing roadblocks and keeping the team focused on high‑value delivery.
Participate in hiring and onboarding to scale the Vancouver engineering hub.
What You Bring   3+ years of experience directly managing engineering teams with a track record of high engagement and technical growth.
8+ years of total experience in software engineering with deep technical roots in C++ and C#.
Extensive experience delivering complex, large‑scale public‑facing applications and APIs in on‑premise or cloud environments.
Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and modern infrastructure‑as‑code concepts.
Exceptional communication skills, able to convey technical complexity to non‑technical stakeholders and foster cross‑departmental collaboration.
BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
Bonus:
Cloud infrastructure expertise (Azure, AWS, GCP), toolchain mastery (Bamboo, Azure Dev Ops, Git Hub Actions), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), video domain knowledge (RTSP, WebRTC, video analytics).
Additional Information

Location:

Vancouver, BC (hybrid office schedule)
Base salary: 145,000–175,000 CAD.
