Systems Software Engineer -EA SPORTS FC
Overview
Electronic Arts creates next-level entertainment experiences. EA SPORTS FC is redefining football with genre-leading interactive experiences. As a Systems Software Engineer, you will help push our primary systems and shared engine into the future, maintaining a broad view of game and engine systems and seeking performance, utility, and workflow improvements for development teams.
You will collaborate with design and other engineers to design, prototype, and implement systems and tooling to improve efficiency and capabilities across the project.
Responsibilities- Work with design and other engineers to provide feedback and create clear and estimable technical designs.
- Provide tested and high-quality technical implementations that meet requirements.
- Be aware of how technical implementation impacts performance and memory budgets.
- Identify ways to increase team efficiency through tooling or workflow enhancements.
- Contribute to core EA technologies in an architecturally sound way to promote collaborative development.
- Experience with the development craft and an interest in systems-level work.
- Understanding of C++ language, best practices, and architectural considerations.
- Ability to communicate with non-technical partners such as artists, designers, and producers.
- Experience with parallel programming, resource management, and hardware architecture.
- Experience in engine development.
- 5+ years of programming experience.
- Experience with performance and memory profiling tools.
- Experience in embedded systems.
- Experience in job-based architecture.
Pay ranges:
British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) CAD 104,. Pay is determined based on education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, location, and business needs.
Canada benefits include vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 sick days per year, top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when welcoming a new child (12 weeks maternity, 4 weeks parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life and disability insurance, retirement plan for regular full-time employees, and potential bonus and equity for certain roles.
