Join a fast‑paced team building intelligence capabilities that will transform how customers interact with Alexa. As a Software Development Engineer II, you’ll work on technology that enables natural, intuitive experiences across multiple device types.

• Design and implement scalable systems for real‑time processing and multimodal AI integration
• Build core components of a horizontal capability that powers visual understanding across Amazon’s device ecosystem
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to deliver end‑to‑end customer experiences
• Solve complex technical challenges in distributed systems, real‑time processing, and API design

You’ll work on high‑impact projects that directly shape upcoming product launches. This role offers the opportunity to tackle Amazon’s hardest technical problems while building technology that will fundamentally change how people interact with AI assistants. You’ll collaborate with talented engineers, ML scientists, and product teams in a fast‑paced, innovative environment.

• 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 3+ years of designing and developing large‑scale, multi‑tiered, multi‑threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. As a total compensation company, Amazon’s package may include other elements such as sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
