Be a technical leader with Clio's Knowledge Extraction Team as a Senior Software Engineer in AI. Enhance systems that convert legal documents into structured data, with a focus on reliability and scalability.

Clio seeks a skilled Senior Software Engineer, AI, to lead backend development and evolve data pipelines for legal information processing. You will collaborate closely with editorial, legal teams, and platform engineers to deliver AI-enabled solutions that manage millions of legal documents efficiently. This role encompasses overseeing the entire lifecycle of your projects, ensuring high standards in design, monitoring, and operational support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and build scalable backend services and data pipelines

• Develop LLM-powered workflows using OpenAI and AWS Bedrock

• Enhance capabilities for citation recognition and resolution

• Measure model quality with heterogeneous document sets

• Ensure reliability and security in cloud operations

Requirements:

• 4+ years in software engineering and AI systems development

• Proficiency in Python;
Ruby experience is a plus

• Familiarity with semi-structured data processing

• Understanding of cloud platforms and SQL

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
