Cloud Platform Engineer

• 6-month contract role
• Cloud Infrastructure team
• Client located in downtown Vancouver, primarily on-site work

Our client is looking to add a Platform Engineer to their high performing cloud foundations team. The team builds trusted, secure, scalable cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure and implements self‑service platforms and guardrails. The role sits at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, security, emerging AI/agent platform capabilities and involves building and operating landing zones, Terraform modules, CI/CD pipelines, policy‑as‑code guardrails, driving SRE and Fin Ops practices, and enabling AI and LLM agent integration patterns.

The role participates in on‑call rotations and requires a strong bias toward automation, security, and developer enablement.

The client is a global retail organization based in downtown Vancouver.

• 3‑5 years of experience in cloud or platform engineering or SRE, building and operating distributed systems across AWS and/or Azure
• Proficiency with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code, designing reusable modules; working knowledge of Git Lab CI/CD, containerization, and orchestration
• Coding proficiency in Python or Go, integration with REST and JSON APIs, familiarity with serverless patterns, event‑driven architectures, and security fundamentals including secrets management and identity
• Exposure to AI and LLM agent development concepts, including prompting, function calling, and RAG; interest in building reusable AI platform capabilities; familiarity with observability tooling such as Datadog

$60–70 per hour.
