The Frontend Web Developer Co‑op is a member of a highly focused team, responsible for building modern, sophisticated applications using leading‑edge technologies. This is an opportunity to learn front‑end development, from writing pixel‑perfect CSS to using React and JavaScript to implement features. We will provide mentoring, code reviews, and access to senior developers.

• Using React.js, Typescript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS to implement web UIs for Global Relay's core service offering.
• Collaborate with UX and application teams to create usable, beautiful, and powerful user interfaces.
• Implement features following our development process including design review, code reviews, continuous integration, extensive unit testing, automated testing, and guide them through production.
• Work with QA to ensure that we build a quality product.

• Sound computer science fundamentals.
• Knowledge of object‑oriented application design.
• Experience creating web apps using HTML/CSS and JavaScript.
• Exposure to JavaScript libraries, frameworks and platforms such as React.js, Redux, node.js, jQuery, AngularJS, etc.

• Links to a Github profile or running projects you have worked on.

Global Relay advertises the pay range for this role in compliance with British Columbia’s pay transparency laws. Individual pay rates are determined by evaluating factors such as expertise, skills, education, and professional background. The expected annual base salary is:

Base salary range: $42,000 CAD – $66,000 CAD. Salaries are paid out semi‑monthly. This is one component of our comprehensive total rewards package, which includes an extended health benefits program, virtual healthcare, a wellness allowance, paid sick days, a maternity/parental enhancement program, a bonus program, and an RRSP contribution matching program. Vancouver‑based employees also receive a subsidized meal program.
